It is the practitioners responsibility to find a suitable person in their practice context to review and verify their Professional Learning and Development.
The reviewer/verifyier should preferably have a professional CLD background. This can typically be the practitioners line manager, mentor, volunteering supervisor or academic tutor. It is often the same person as your referee.
If you work in a situation where your line manager does not have a professional CLD background then they CAN still verify your professional learning if they have an understanding of the CLD Professional Standards covering the CLD Values, Code of Ethics and Competent Practitioner framework.
Professional CLD background means – having a CLD Standards Council recognised qualification, or equivalent, being a member of the CLD Standards Council and have a minimum experience of 2 years of CLD practice.
