The aim of this course is to develop a cohort of practitioners working within the CLD sector with the confidence and skills to use coaching approaches in their work

The course will:

Develop new coaching skills and the confidence to deliver and provide support to participants using CLD Coaching Approaches with individuals and groups

Context

This learning programme has grown from successful national CLD Upskilling Coaching programmes including the CLD Coaching Approaches programme, devised by coach trainers, Acorn Principle Plus (APP), with CLD partners in Fife, Angus, Perth and Kinross and Dundee Councils. Ten participants from SE and Central CPD Consortium, completed the programme in February 2013 and will now co-deliver, with APP trainers, to colleagues in Falkirk and Edinburgh's CLD sector

The National Strategic Guidance for CLD states that … effective leadership is crucial to CLD delivering its role and impact. Further work to develop the skills, understanding and confidence for leadership at all levels within the CLD workforce should be a key focus for CPD therefore to enable ‘…empowering people, individually and collectively, to make positive changes in their lives and in their communities, through learning…build on the assets and potential of the individual, the family and the community
